Your checklist for AirnTV on Android TV
- Google TV or certified Android TV hardware: a TV, or a streamer like the Google TV Streamer, onn 4K Pro or Shield
- A Google account already signed in, because Google Play needs one
- The AirnTV login lines sitting in your WhatsApp chat
- An Ethernet cable to the router, or solid 5 GHz Wi-Fi, for live games
No login yet? Grab a 24-hour AirnTV trial, no card needed, and set it up on a real game night. Want to know where your games usually air? The AirnTV sports hub maps the sports groups, and the live IPTV explainer covers how channels reach you as they air. When you are ready, check plan lengths and screen counts.
AirnTV on Android TV in 12 steps, ending at the live sports groups
Confirm the operating system
The System or About screen in Settings names the platform. If it reads Google TV or Android TV, carry on here; for Tizen, webOS or Roku, pick the matching guide instead. Boxes running phone Android often hide TV apps from Google Play, so certified hardware spares you trouble on match day.
Install updates before anything else
Run System update, which Google TV files under Settings, System, About. Apps from Google Play update themselves. Reboot afterward. Current firmware decodes more stream types and often adds display features, frame-rate matching included on many recent models.
Get TiViMate from Google Play
Go to the Apps tab and pick Search for apps, or the Google Play tile on older Android TV screens. Find TiViMate IPTV Player, check the publisher and install. Free use covers a single playlist with every live channel. Premium unlocks extras such as several playlists and recording.
Or sideload Smarters with Downloader
Like big tiles better? Add Downloader from Google Play and give it permission in the security area of Settings, usually labeled Unknown sources; each brand words this differently. Enter the code our support team gives you, install Smarters and remove the leftover file.
Type in your AirnTV login
TiViMate wants Add playlist and then Xtream Codes, while Smarters wants Login with Xtream Codes API. Type the server with its http:// and port, then the username and the password. A phone running the Google TV app works as a proper keyboard and saves a lot of remote clicking.
Let the opening load complete
Label the playlist AirnTV for easy spotting. The first sync pulls every live group, the TV guide and the 120,000+ title library, so a budget box may take a few minutes. Hold off until it settles. Afterwards, launches only check for changes and are quick.
Head straight for the sports groups
In TiViMate, open the TV guide and press Left to show the groups. In Smarters, choose Live TV and scroll the categories. Sports are divided by sport and by region, so the NFL, NBA, soccer and fight channels each have a corner. Write down the group names you will use most.
Build a short favorites list
Hold the center button on each channel you watch every week and add it to favorites. Five to ten covers most fans: your regional sports network, the national networks, a soccer channel and a fight channel. On game day, open Favorites and you are watching in two clicks.
Switch on frame-rate matching
On Google TV, look under Display and Sound, in the advanced display settings, for Match content frame rate, and choose the mode your TV handles cleanly. TiViMate also lists auto frame rate in its playback settings on many versions. US games usually run near 60 fps and many European soccer feeds at 50, so matching removes judder on pans.
Set the buffer, then fix the connection
If the box has a network port, plug a cable in; for live sport nothing helps more. Otherwise use 5 GHz. In TiViMate, Settings, Playback, Buffer size decides how much stream the app holds in reserve. Step it up once if games stutter; the cost is a little extra delay.
Reboot ahead of kickoff
Boxes with 2 GB of memory slow down when many apps linger in the background. An hour before the game, restart from the settings menu or pull the power for a minute. Open the player, check your favorites and leave the channel running for a few minutes before the start.
Share the login with more screens
Another TV, tablet or phone just needs a player and the same AirnTV details. Your plan allows 1 to 5 screens at once, enough for two games in two rooms. Guide listings, plus catch-up where a channel supports it, travel with that login.
Game-day prep on Google TV
The right moment to set up IPTV on Android TV is the day before the game, not five minutes before it. Run the steps, load the guide, star your channels and watch part of any live game. You then know the picture, the sound and the network hold up at the hour you really watch.
Which channel shows which game depends on that broadcaster's rights for the season and region, and rights change between seasons. Check on the morning of the game. Our US sports IPTV guide names the networks that usually carry the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and college sport, and the soccer channels page does the same for MLS, Liga MX and the big European leagues.
What a good sports box needs
- An Ethernet port: a cable stays steadier than Wi-Fi when the whole street streams at once.
- Frame-rate matching: the system option described in the Google TV Help Center, or a player that switches the rate itself.
- Enough memory: 3 GB or more keeps channel changes quick.

Where the Live and Sports groups sit on Android TV
Menu labels move around between firmware and app updates, so treat this as a guide, not gospel. If your screen says something slightly different, pick the nearest match and keep going.
| Game-day job | TiViMate | Smarters Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Jump to the sports groups | TV guide, press Left for groups | Live TV tile, categories down the left |
| Favorite a channel | Hold the center button on the channel | Hold the channel, then favorite it |
| Ease stutter | Settings, Playback, Buffer size | Player settings, if a buffer option is listed |
| Handle 50 and 60 fps feeds | Auto frame rate under playback, where your version has it | System option: Match content frame rate |
| No channels after login | Settings, Playlists, AirnTV, update | Sign out of the profile, sign back in |
Prefer the official word on menus and settings? Go to the Google TV Help Center for display and app settings. Which game a channel shows depends on that broadcaster's rights for the season and region. Before you commit, use the trial to open the networks you follow, preferably during a live game.
Live game stuttering? Run through this before kickoff
- The line: plug in an Ethernet cable, or sit near the router on 5 GHz Wi-Fi; a 2.4 GHz signal through two walls struggles with fast action.
- The household: pause console updates, big downloads and cloud backups while the game is on.
- The player: raise the buffer one step where the app has that setting, and keep hardware decoding on unless one channel misbehaves.
- The picture: turn on frame-rate matching if your device offers it, so 60 fps sport does not judder.
- The channel: if one version of a channel stutters, try another version in the same group and tell support which one it was.
Picture quality on AirnTV runs from HD through FHD to 4K, and 4K appears only when a broadcaster supplies it. For bandwidth and device needs, read what a 4K IPTV setup requires. Planning fight nights or race weekends? The live events page helps.
Common Android TV problems on game night, and the fixes
Google Play will not list TiViMate
Your box most likely uses phone Android without certification, so Google Play keeps TV apps out of sight. Downloader works around that. Be aware that such boxes rarely get updates for decoding and display features.
No channels appear after login
The first sync might still be running, so wait a few minutes. In TiViMate, open Settings, Playlists, select AirnTV and update it. In Smarters, sign out and in again to reload the profile. If the list never fills, look for a missing port on the server line.
Audio but a black picture
The box cannot decode that particular stream. Update the system, then pick a different decoder in the player settings. Switching channel and returning often clears it. If one channel fails every time, pass its name to our team.
Games stutter at the same hour each night
Home Wi-Fi gets busy in the evening. A cable or the 5 GHz band helps most, followed by pausing downloads on other devices. Step the TiViMate buffer size up once. If a single channel stutters while the rest are smooth, let us know which.
The screen goes dark as a game starts
Frame-rate matching is switching the TV to the stream rate, which takes a second or two. If that annoys you, set Match content frame rate to its seamless-only mode, or switch it off and live with mild judder on 50 fps feeds.
Starred channels have gone
A playlist that is deleted and re-added counts as new, and favorites can vanish with it. Change the current playlist rather than replacing it. Wiping app data does the same damage, so note your channels first.
The tablet knocks the TV off mid-game
Plans limit how many streams run together. On a single-screen plan, the tablet bumps the TV. Quit the unused app and wait sixty seconds. If two rooms watch on most game days, move to two screens or more next time.

AirnTV on Android TV: your questions
How is IPTV set up on a Google TV device?
Put TiViMate on from the Apps tab, or Smarters via Downloader, then choose the Xtream Codes sign-in and enter your AirnTV details. Let the channels and guide load once. Open the sports groups, star your weekly channels and turn on Match content frame rate. Most people are watching live TV within ten minutes.
Where does TiViMate keep the sports channels?
In the group column of its TV guide. Open the guide, press Left, then scroll to the sports groups, which are divided by sport and region. Hold the center button on any channel to favorite it. If no groups show, refresh the AirnTV playlist under Settings, Playlists.
Is Smarters Pro listed in the Google Play store?
No store region we tried listed it in September 2026. Even so, its Android version works well on Google TV hardware. Our support team sends a Downloader code for it, and the Smarters website hosts it too. Avoid copy sites, because several hide adware in the download.
Which Android TV box handles live sports best?
Choose certified hardware that has Ethernet, frame-rate matching and 3 GB of memory or more. In September 2026 we found three that pass every test: the Google TV Streamer, the onn 4K Pro and Nvidia's Shield TV Pro. For live games, the cable matters about as much as the box.
Is frame-rate matching worth turning on for sport?
Yes, if your TV switches cleanly. US broadcasts typically run near 60 fps, while many European soccer feeds run at 50. A box locked at 60 Hz shows those 50 fps feeds with a small judder, and matching removes it. Some TVs go dark for a second when the rate changes, which is normal.
Can two people watch two different games at once?
They can on a plan with two or more screens. Put the same AirnTV login on both devices and start a different channel on each. With one screen, only a single device streams. Choose 1, 2, 3 or 5 screens, and change that number at any renewal.
